Carolyn Pickens’ primary focus is probate administration and litigation. She has an Associate’s Degree in Paralegal Studies from Cuyahoga Community College and a BA in psychology from Cleveland State University. She has been employed as a paralegal at Nicola Gudbranson & Cooper from 2010 to the present.
Anne Grove supports the immigration law group at Nicola, Gudbranson & Cooper. She provides legal assistance to the group’s immigration attorneys on a range of employment and family-based immigrant processes. She has a Bachelor’s of Arts degree in both International Relations and Spanish from Michigan State University. In her free time, Anne enjoys rowing, training for triathlon, and spending time with her dogs.
Elaine P. Smolic
Elaine Smolic provides paralegal support to the workers’ compensation defense practice group. She assists in preparing, coordinating and the handling of both administrative claims and court litigation. She has more than 30 years of experience in the legal field, including 20 years as Office Manager of a smaller size Cleveland law firm where she oversaw and directly handled many aspects of the business. Since joining NGC in January 2017, the workers’ compensation practice has benefitted greatly from Elaine’s broad base of practical and legal experience, keen insights, organizational skills and work ethic. Outside of the office, Elaine enjoys cooking, sewing and playing the piano.
Alison Crain provides support to Nicola, Gudbranson & Cooper’s immigration law group. She assists the group’s attorneys on a wide range of immigration processes, including temporary work visas, employment-based and family-based immigrant petitions and permanent residence applications, and naturalization applications. She also assists with asylum cases and provides Spanish translation/interpretation services. Alison holds a Bachelor’s degree in Spanish from John Carroll University.
